I visited Swanage for the first time now. I love the sea, the paths for walking and the town in general. But this B&B made the trip even more special! Alan is such a nice and funny guy who we loved talking to. The room and the breakfast were amazing! The room was very clean and comfortable, the tea and cookies were filled up daily and we were able to fill out a piece of paper for breakfast where we could decide specifically what we wanted to eat. And when we needed more tea, Alan brought it without any hesitation! I would definitely recommend this place if you want to visit Swanage! I will come back for sure!
I have to say the Rookery is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. It’s clean, tidy and they are so good at attention to detail, the bedding and furniture is lovely and glass and huge windows are so clean it doesn’t look like there’s glass in the windows. On arrival they were so welcoming I felt they were so glad we stopped by to stay. The rooms are lovely and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The food is excellent and it’s just a few minutes walk to the beach. I would highly recommend staying here!!! If I could give my stay here more stars I would. Thank you for having us. Hope to see you again soon!
Where other experiences in Swanage have been ok, this b&b is outstanding. Friendly service, spotlessly clean, ideal location and breakfast quality was possibly the best I've ever known using locally sourced produce. We arrived early but was able to park and the room was ready. Long may Alan and the team keep it going and we'll definitely look to stay here again next time we visit Swanage.
Had a lovely stay, the bed was comfy and the food was delicious. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend.
My wife and I have just come back from a 4 night stay at the Rookery Bed and Breakfast ( it was really lovely) Alan and Charlene were also really lovely ( I will miss my morning chats to Alan at breakfast time!) The room was really nice and the location was just 2 minutes away from the beach ( Alan’s local knowledge was very helpful) p.s the breakfast was really tasty! Cannot recommended the Rookery highly enough! Look forward to hopefully going back one day!
First visit here on Friday stayed for two nights Alan the owner and his wife Charlene were very welcoming he showed us to our room, and said that if we needed anything else to let him know the room was lovely and bright and very clean and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Very close to the town centre just 20 minutes walk and far enough away so it wasn't noisy. A very good breakfast selection just a tick away they cater for people with dietary requirements like myself everything we had was lovely and the coffee was good always a must for me. They also do a small evening menu this is extra and they serve alcohol too so if you didn't want to venture out everything was there even a jukebox! I have no complaints and should we return to Swanage we would definitely come here
Excellent B&B with warm and welcoming host. Beautiful rooms with comfy beds and renovated recently to a very high standard. Generous breakfast which was very tasty indeed. Owner has two large dogs. They are cute and well behaved, but you should be aware if you are allergic (as I am) as it might affect you (as it did to me).
My mum and I stayed for two nights and we can't recommend The Rookery enough. The location is excellent, the room was delightful and very clean, the breakfast was perfectly cooked and Alan and Charlene were such welcoming and helpful hosts. If we return to Swanage we will definitely choose to stay here again!
